This was Gulches first competition exclusively for the ladies but I don't think it will be the last. They really showed out and provided some great viewing and fierce competition in every class. They proved that it is not just the guys that can wheel and I am amazed at the driving skills they displayed. I can't wait for the next Powderpuff!

Mother Nature sure didn't cooperate for this event. A couple of days of rain and a little more rain on the day of the competition made for some slippery, messy courses. But that didn't keep the spectators or the competitors away. I had to get a little creative waterproofing my camera and my camera-in-a-bag worked pretty darn well.

This year''s series of offroad competitions kicked off the season this weekend with a huge line of both competitors and spectators. It was a full day of action (at least for the spectators) that didn''t stop until the sun went down. Most of the familiar faces were competing as well some new ones. Excellent driving all around and there was minimal carnage at this event. But if it is like last year''s comps, the next events will get progressively harder and put every competitor and their rigs to the test. Thanks to Gulches for having these local, home-grown 4x4 competitions and a great place to ride locally.
