2.4 mile hike along a gated FS road with 825' EG. There are lots of ups and downs on the trail and that makes this a more moderate hike. About 0.9 miles in, take the yellow blazed trail when it veers off to the right and up the ridgeline. The summit is located a short distance off of the trail.
NOTE: In April 2016 due to road conditions, I was unable to drive my large sedan all the way to the trailhead and had to park at the Meadow Creek Fire Tower (which I recommend for the views). You can actually pick up the trail from the parking lot, but it is a very steep descent. I also walked along the road to the trailhead. It is roughly twice as long as the trail from the firetower to the trailhead, but it is much easier on the knees.
