W4C/CM-009 - Big Butt

3.1 mile hike (1200' EG, 600' EL) on the Big Butt Trail from the Walker Knob Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The trail from the overlook has yellow blazes contrary to what the map says. Several outstanding views along the trail and there is now a maintained trail to the summit. When the trail starts to drop off of the Big Butt ridgeline, walk another fifty feet down the trail and you should find the pink blazed summit trail. A small opening has been cleared at the summit for a nice view.
